A Letter to Teachers

In this lecture, Kenneth D. Keith, PhD, of the University of San Diego, presents ideas important to the teaching of psychology. Psychology, William James argued in 1899, is a science, and teaching is an art that must exist within the lines laid down by the science. These ideas include scientific literacy, critical thinking, complex cognition and the liberal arts. Keith shows how these ideas support Alexander's contention that teaching is perhaps the noblest profession.
